Yes ladies and gentlemen… There is hope after all for anyone that wants this pricy gadget with support for local networks and with the ability to perform legitimate software updates.

I am one of the people that do not want to get it in the near future, since I am really happy with my Nokia N73 (which I dropped on the floor again last week) and with my newly acquired Vodafone Dual Number SIM card.

What I am looking for is new plans for unlimited 3G Internet access (like… REALLY unlimited access) and maybe the option to use the device (the iPhone) for tethering (is this correct in English?), either connected or through Bluetooth.

Coming back to the subject of this post: I was pretty disappointed in Vodafone for not announcing a deal with Apple to bring the iPhone in Romania (Vodafone announcement went live a couple of weeks ago) but this news is good news (Orange announcement). Finally! Apple included Romania in its plans :D On the downside: there is no news of an Apple iTunes Store for Romania any time soon.

Ending this post I would like to say that this is not actually the first time when the iPhone has been brought into Romania, I am sure that anyone that entered a Carrefour store in the last months has seen it for sale at a very very high price: 2,299.00 RON.
