Here is a tip for you people in need of extra space on your iPod/iPhone: convert your music tracks, upon loading them on the iPod, to 128 kbps AAC. It saved me 2.6 Gb of valuable space!

Of course if you have a more sensitive ear than me, you might not appreciate this downsampling – but it will just work for most of people!

And just to clarify: tracks on your computer are not modified, only the copies on the iPod are converted.

Available disk space before conversion: 1.37Gb

Space after conversion: 4Gb!

I think it was worth it :)
